Preparing your Manhattan building for an appliance repair

A confirmed appointment and permission to enter the building are separate things. Check management requirements early so your repair visit can go ahead.

Independent service by Wizard Appliance Repair Inc. Visits subject to availability.

Wizard is a mobile service business. We visit your appliance at your address; our business mailing address is not a walk-in repair shop. Before choosing a time, confirm that the building allows the visit during that arrival window.

Confirm with your building

Insurance paperwork

Ask management whether a certificate of insurance is required. Send the required wording, certificate-holder details, and submission deadline to the office. The office must confirm whether the requirements can be met before the visit; issuance or same-day approval is not guaranteed.

Elevator and work-hour rules

Check whether a service or freight elevator must be reserved and whether weekday, weekend, or holiday restrictions apply. A two-hour arrival window must fit the building’s permitted work hours.

Who will provide access

Arrange for someone who can admit the technician and approve the diagnostic visit. Share entry instructions directly with the office. Keep door codes and personal contact details out of public reviews or website comments.

Prepare the kitchen

Clear the route

Tell us about stairs, narrow passages, or an appliance behind cabinetry. Clear loose items from the work area. Do not move a built-in refrigerator or disconnect cooking appliances yourself.

Gather appliance details

Have the brand, model, symptom, and any error message ready. A photo of an accessible model label is useful. Tell us whether the appliance is under a manufacturer, landlord, or third-party warranty.

Separate diagnosis from repair

The diagnostic visit identifies the fault. Repair work needs a separate estimate and approval. If parts are needed, the office explains payment and scheduling before ordering.

The diagnostic visit and repair estimate

The website diagnostic is $200 plus the tax currently displayed at booking ($217.75 total). It covers the trip and diagnosis, is not credited toward the repair, and is charged whether or not you approve further work. Pay when booking or when we arrive. Repair labor and parts are quoted separately; nothing proceeds without your approval. If parts need ordering, the parts payment is collected first and the repair is scheduled after they arrive.

Use the existing calendar to choose an available two-hour arrival window. The confirmation email is your booking record. If building requirements or the appliance’s warranty affect the visit, contact the office first.

Before you book

Does a calendar booking approve my building paperwork?

No. The calendar reserves the appointment window. Building approval, access, and any documentation requirements must also be confirmed.

Can I bring an appliance to your mailing address?

No. Wizard provides mobile service and does not offer walk-in service at its mailing address.

Should I send management documents before booking?

If your building requires advance approval, contact the office first with the requirements and deadline. This helps avoid a visit that cannot proceed.

Plan your Manhattan visit

Tell us your ZIP code, appliance model, symptom, and building requirements. We confirm the visit against availability and the work needed. A Manhattan address alone does not guarantee an appointment.
